Purple Caterpillar
I found this strange caterpillar when we were at Shawnee State Forest in southern Ohio this past weekend. I had never seen a purple caterpillar before and had no idea what it was. I looked it up when we got home and found that it seems to be a White-blotched Heterocampa. Apparently they turn purple/pink right before pupating. I learned something new!

now that is truly an example of gods humor.. a purple caterpillar..My purple loving granddaughter would want to take it home and make it a pet!
