#31 - Last Day of January

Well, I made it through the first month of photos, yay!!! Yeah, I had a few "cheats" but I guarantee there will be more in the future. And that's ok. As long as I get a pic up everyday and they are mostly all from that same day, I will be pleased. I just can't wait for warmer weather to get here! I feel like I can find so much more to photograph when its warm out. And I am waaaaay more motivated to get out and take photos too!

Here is my last photo of January 2010. Another lovely sunset from my kitchen window. I like how the ahem empty bird feeder pics up the light. Enjoy!

#30 - Full Moon

This is my first try at photographing a full moon. I only have a 80/200 mm lens and an older 6 megapixel Canon Rebel, so its not the best, but I think it turned out alright. And I zoomed in and cropped it in Photoshop too. If anyone has any tips let me know!

#29 - Find Me Friday

Look how well Luke blends in with the melting snow.

#28 - Winter Morning

I decided to play around and add a photo texture to this pic. I haven't done anything like this in a very long time, I had forgotten how much I enjoy it! This photo texture is Curly Fav by SheisprettyStock. That is all the info I have for it, I found it a while ago and its just been waiting to be used.

#27 - Happy Birthday to Our Angel Dog

This is a pic of our sweet Aussie Duke who passed away in July. He would have been 7 today. We miss you Bubs!! This pic was taken on his birthday last year.

#26 - Cheeese!

My boy FINALLY decided it is fun to smile for the camera! Before when I would take pics of him, he would never look at me when I was holding the camera, but just in the last couple days he has become the biggest ham. And Mommy is so happy about that =)

#25 - Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Mimzy rolling - this time I caught her! That girl sure knows how to get the most mud possible all over herself! At least this time it was slightly frozen, but the last couple days she has been a MESS! Talk about a mud spa treatment lol!

#24 - Who Couldn't Love This Face??

Today has been an icky, yucky, dreary, rainy day. So I didn't get to get out and take any pics...boooo =( But I did get a sweet one of Luke. He can make any day better just by looking at him. Thanks for cheering me up pup!

#23 - Hey You, NOW!

 This pic cracks me up so I had to post it. I promise, I will get some new pics tomorrow! =)

Jimmy LOVES his Thomas the Train stuff so he opened one of his new movies for his birthday and seemed to be saying "Hey Mom!! Put this on NOW!! (please?)" lol. He is such a little silly goose.

Find Jimmy in his new Thomas the Train tent! This was a big hit for his birthday, he loves taking his little trains in there and playing with them. Even Luke gets in with him sometimes.

#21 - Birthday Cake

Jimmy got his real birthday cake today. Yesterday we had cupcakes because we had to save the "special" cake for when Granddad and Grandma & the great-grandparents came over. So I worked on Jimmy's "Thomas" cake all day looooong. Seriously, it took me all day because someone wouldn't take a nap today of all days AND he discovered how to climb out of his crib! Not to mention he kept bringing me his trains and wanting me to put them back on the tracks, etc....*sigh* they are only little once!!!

This is only the second cake I have ever decorated, at least in a very long time. I may have when I was younger, but I don't remember. My mom always made us cakes and drew our favorite characters on them, so I really like to carry on that tradition. I am posting two pics today to show a view of the whole cake and then one of Jimmy's blowing out his candles.

#20 - Happy Birthday Jimmy

Today was Jimmy's 2nd Birthday. My little man is growing up so fast! I gave him a big boy haircut, he looks all grown up (ok, for a 2 year old lol). I also learned just how much he likes cupcakes/icing. Sneaky little guy ;-) Happy Birthday Sweetie!!

#19 - Buddies

I cheated again - this is another pic of Jimmy's first time in the snow. I am feeling better today, but we had a busy morning of birthday shopping for the birthday boy who will be *sniff* TWO tomorrow! And then someone decided not to take a nap so I didn't really have time to get any pics today. So enjoy another shot of Jimmy and his kitty pal who for some reason decided to jump up onto Jimmy's shoulders. Made for some very cute pics even though I COULD NOT for the life of me get Jimmy to look at the camera. Ah well =)

#18 - Sleepy

So guess what...I am sick AGAIN. Bleh. This time it is a sore throat, headache and stuffy head. I hope this clears up real quick because a certain little man has a birthday on Wednesday and I need to make his cake and get the house clean for Grandma & Granddad & the great-grandparents to come over on Thursday. Oy. So anyway, I didn't take any pics today so here is one from Saturday over at my Dad & Kathy's house. This shows how I am feeling right now lol. It is a pic of hubby and Andrew the Bichon Frise taking a wee nap.

#16 - He's Growing So Fast!

Luke is getting so big so fast! I can't believe it, he is getting long legs and losing his "baby fat." My handsome pup! He has so much fun in the snow, this was taken during a walk around our property yesterday when it was actually in the 40's here! It was so nice to be above freezing for once lol!

#14 - Jimmy's First Time in the Snow

First he didn't want to get all bundled up, then he didn't want to come outside, then he wouldn't walk on the snow, and he wouldn't sit on the snow....once he found his slide however, he was fine and wanted to go down it. Then he walked all over the snow and didn't want to go back inside! Ahhh the joys of being a toddler ;-)

#13 - Hidden Place

This is my absolute most favorite place on our property. Down by the creek where there are actually trees! It is awesome in the summer when its all hidden by leaves, but in the winter it looks beautiful when it snows, especially on days when it is all frosty like it was on Sunday and today. This pic is from Sunday, but it WAS frosty like this today too so....I cheated a little =D

#10 - A Crisp Frosty Morning

This morning I woke up to a frost covered winter wonderland. It was just beautiful! EVERYTHING was covered in this light dusting of snow. I was so lucky to be able to go out and take lots of pics so I will be posting more tomorrow over on my other blog. I especially love this shot because of the beautiful clear blue sky background.

#7 - Snowday!

We got about 3-4 inches of snow today. Of course it all depends on where you are measuring. It is super windy right now, so it will be interesting to see how deep the drifts get tomorrow! Don't worry, the horses are in the barn for the night! I brought them in to feed them and they were just too snowy and cold for my liking so I kept them in their stalls. All nice and toasty =)

#4 - Frozen Muddy Pasture

Ok, now this one was actually taken on the correct day! Its not a great pic, but we are getting there! Mimzy and Pegasus in their snowy, frozen, muddy pasture. Lovely. lol. Oh and that water trough is the one we use in the summer, the winter one is up next to the barn with a heater in it. Just fyi =D

#3 - Jim's Christmas Present

This is the throw I got for Jim for Christmas. It makes me cry every time I look at it, but I love it so much! Jim said "Thanks a lot for getting me something to make me SAD." Awwww =( but it is great to be able to cuddle with Duke whenever we want! I was so happy with how it turned out.

Here is another photo that was not actually taken on "the day." But we will pretend it was because it very well could have been! This is my nephew "CR." Isn't he just so cute??

Photo #1 - Happy New Year

This is not the greatest photo, nor is it from January 1st, but it shows what was happening right before Jimmy got sick on New Years Eve. He was stacking Reese Cups. I took this picture, set the camera down, went into a different room, heard Jimmy make a coughing sound, came back in the dining room and saw a huge lovely mess. So this photo is a reminder of how our family started off 2010 =D
