Meet our new babies! They are so adorable. Just 2 days old and cute as can be. They all arrived safely this morning and have settled in very well. We ordered 1 black Swedish male, 2 blue Swedish females, 1 male and 2 female Welsh Harlequins, 1 chocolate Indian Runner female, 2 fawn and white Runner females, and 1 fawn and white Runner male. Please enjoy the following cuteness overload:

Spring has Sprung!
Lots of new happenings on the farm this week.
Our new ducklings are on their way today! They should arrive by Wednesday. I ordered Indian runner ducks, blue and black Swedish, and Welsh Harlequins. The ducks we had last year were Swedish ducks and they were so much fun. Sadly, they all turned out to be males and since we want egg layers, we decided to use them for the dinner table. They were very tasty, but it was hard to think of eating our little buddies at first. Ahh farm life! The ones I ordered this year are females (I did get a couple males) so we will hopefully be getting some eggs this fall or next spring.
Over the weekend, I went and bought a top bar beehive from a friend of mine, so we are that much closer to getting started on our journey with beekeeping. I have been wanting to get bees for the last 4 or 5 years and have been wanting to try a top bar hive so I am super excited! We may wait until next year to actually get the bees since it is a little late in the season, but we will see. We have a friend that keeps bees so if he needs to split a hive, we may be able to buy some bees from him.
Things are starting to pop up in the gardens and I spotted my first asparagus spears yesterday. Yummy!! The rhubarb looks nice and there are lots of spring flowers starting to bud and bloom. I have a lilac bush that is just covered with buds! Oh I can just smell them now!

Find Me Friday - 4/10
I debated whether or not to post this since the LAST time I did Find Me Friday was a year ago and it was the same subject.... pheasants! But then I thought, hey, a year ago was my first official pheasant sighting of the year and this is the exact same time! So its a good log to keep of pheasant sighting dates. ;-) Not the greatest pics, but I sure love these birds. They are so beautiful!
Here is a button for you to use if you would like to participate, just link back in the comments. Thanks!
